\"ColinColin Woodford<\/a> is an award-winning composer, percussionist, instrument builder, and improviser from Los Angeles. He is a regular performer\/composer at new music series\u2019, and guest artist at museums and art galleries. In addition, he has collaborated with dancers, animators, and visual artists. He was an Arteles fellow in Finland, and has a BFA from California Institute of the arts. He all but learned phrasing from George Carlin and Victor Borge, and has worked with creative music greats like Wadada Leo Smith, Vinny Golia, Larry Koonse, and Darek Oles.<\/p>\n

Woodford’s piece is a series called \u2018what if it sounded like,\u2019 and will demarcate part of the route between the two main hubs of soundwalk activity. It is a completely ignorable opportunity to be curious. There are 16 or so pieces in the series, and each piece asks the experiencer to consider what it would sound like if they were walking on a different material; not actually walking on it, but just if it sounded like they were. The experience is personal, and changeable with how you walk, the shoes you\u2019re wearing, the size of the room you imagine this new floor to be in (marble in a state building, rather than an apartment living room), etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
