\"Craque\"Craque<\/a> (Matt Davis) combines the sounds of amplified objects and hand-made instruments with hardware effects and analog devices to form looped and layered aural textures.<\/p>\n

Craque’s work is about discovery: new sound and structure through improvisation, drawing inspiration from chaotic form. To connect with this, Searching for sounds near their source, Craque’s likes to think in terms of the “original sound” of an object: how a glass marble sounds on wood, or how an electrical current sounds when modulating itself. In his work, – both sonic and visual – he bring the object into the art and re-contextualize it, searching for other ways to know it and experience its individuality, coax it to become something changed and unknown as part of a new system.<\/p>\n

For SoundWalk, the sonic improvisation features the surrounding area and visitors, sampled and mixed through various microphones and playable objects placed in the immediate space.<\/p>\n
